Baraka Cola WMA comes from the famed breeding program of Windmere Arabians. He was sold as a young colt to an Arabian breeder. Two years passed and the owner had to leave HF. Baraka was left in the capable hands of her farm staff> When I contacted her, she was thrilled that I'd shown so much interest in him, and hence was happy to have him transported to our farm. Later the year we acquired him, he was in excellent shape-still the masculine, vibrant young stallion he'd always been. One day, out at our ranch in San Louis Obispo, where he stood for several months, a ranch hand had left the gate open to one of our cattle pastures. Many of our young Hereford and Angus calves and their mothers were loose on the property. Baraka was the only horse old enough and broke enough to tackle the task of rounding up more than 60 cows. His incredible temperament and wonderful sensibility held him in good stead, and within a few hours, the still-energetic Cole was ready to bring in more cattle. We then realized he was sensible and cowy enough to be highly successful in working western. Not only this, but he had soft, smooth, slow legged gaits that would be a great asset in the western pleasure ring. So Cole began his new career and was aimed towards Regionals where we figured he would do well, and might even go top five. And were we ever amazed to see him turn on the cow like never before. His multiple wins at Regionals qualified him for Nationals, and Cole wasn't about to disappoint us-bringing home several National Championships and titles. We couldn't be more proud of Cole.
